From behind.
I just can’t keep myself from shooting the body art. It’s an addiction. I’ll spend an hour trying to talk a model out of ink, but once she gets it I have to shoot it.
Model: Britt
MUA: Kristin Daniell
No one can ever say I don’t treat my models right. I provide cookies and milk.
Of course after swiming around in it for a couple of hours she didn’t drink the milk. But she like the oreos. Do you think the oreos company might want to use the image for an ad?
We had to test out pouring the milk over her body art. This was interesting because as I said before I didn’t mix the stuff in the pool very thickly. So when she just scooped it up and poured it on herself, it disappeared. Completely transparent like water.
So we mixed up special batches just for [...]
Haven’t mentioned how I lit this shoot. It was amazingly simple.
One light – a 3×3 softbox – on a boom directly above the pool for every image you’ve seen.
Model: Alicia
Alicia again, this time with out the bikini.
When shooting something like a tattoo covered model, you often see details you want to show. In her case it was the star of david tattoos, the interesting hip line, and the beading of the water/milk.
This is one of my favorite images from the shoot because of the three elements I used in the title. I love the color.
When I bought the pool I was a little worried the blue would be a problem. Anytime you introduce a color into an image, you find the image itself is changed [...]
It isn’t really milk, it is some high protein milk substitute I bought a HUGH bucket of at Costco. I thought I’d need a lot of it, but ended up only using about 4 cups for the whole kiddie pool.
Once again the model is Alicia.
We started off trying to be worksafe, but most of the images are nude.
I don’t remember exactly where the idea for this shoot came from. Like most awesome ideas I’m sure there was more than one source and they were brought together.
I first heard of Alicia because she applied to be a model for [...]
On the same body.
Bit of a challenge to get both feet in the same image in a meaningful way. I also changed the color of her toe nails to match something in the body art.
